Gay Local Tips in Strasbourg

Insider Tips Strasbourg: A typical French touch

Clément is a proud misterb&b host from Strasbourg. He's very fond of his city and loves showing his guests around and sharing his local tips. Let Strasbourg surprise you and stay like a gay local following Clément's great advice...

What makes your city a favorite gay destination?

Strasbourg concentrates romanticism, charming streets, a European feel, sexy guys, LGBT culture, gay-friendly ambience... and a multitude of gay venues!

What's the best gay event that takes place in Strasbourg?

Gay Pride, without any doubt. There’s events all week long and on the night of the parade there’s so many parties to choose from. Nonetheless, there are countless clubbing events all year round.

What's your favorite gay place to grab a bite for lunch or dinner?

For lunch, my personal favourite is La Hache. You should also try out Le Diable Bleu; they have friendly staff and their menu is filled with delicacies.

The best gay bar for a cheap beer?

Café Bale is definitely one of the most popular bars. It’s a staple of the local gay community as well. You might bump into someone interesting... you never know! ;)

And the best gay bar for a refreshing cocktail?

Code Bar is quite mixed in terms of customer base. But their drinks are delicious and fancy. You won’t regret it!

We're ready to go dancing... what's the best gay dance club?

Spyl Bar Club is the place to be if you’re looking for a wild night of dancing.

And which gay bar offers the best happy hour on a Wednesday?

Le Schluch and Café Bâle have the fairest prices. If you’re a student or just on a budget, these places offer the best deals.

Where to start a gay tour in your home city?

I’d say start from Cathédrale Place and just get lost; the small roads in the city center can hide many surprising places. Make sure you hop by La Petite France district too, especially during the evening.

Best place to socialize with the local gay community?

Hang out with me and my friends! Just joking, as I said, Café Bâle, the Spyl, Z Bar and Kork Bagersee.

How gay-friendly is your home city?

Strasbourg is a very nice place to live in. I’m proud of my city because of its history, natural beauty and – of course – because of the people. It’s an extremely gay-friendly environment. I know it’s 2017, but you can never take these kind of things for granted.

What's gay life like in Strasbourg?

It's amazing, especially if you consider it’s not a huge city like Paris or Lyon. Here you have the traditional French kind of lifestyle. There’s tons of activities to attend in the historical center of the city, many green areas allowing you to go for bicycle tours or nice walks. And there’s tons of cute restaurants and cafés to have amazing apéritifs at fair prices. As I said, this is the typical French city. And it’s just amazing!
