What makes your city a favorite gay destination?

Amsterdam is known for its diversity, open mindedness and freedom. Lots of history, culture and most important of all a very openly gay city. Amsterdam is not only the biggest city and the capital of The Netherlands, but also the most popular gay city and the original gay capital of Europe.

Guys come from all over the world, especially Belgium, France, Germany, Scandinavia, Spain, UK, US.

What is the best gay event that takes place in your city?

There are so many, just to name some of the most popular gay events in Amsterdam are: Leather Pride Amsterdam; Amsterdam Fetish Pride; Amsterdam Gay Pride; Kings Day & Kings Night; Invasion Fetish Party. Each event comes with its own unique activities, venues and parties and tons of hot guys.

What is your favorite gay establishment to grab a bite for lunch? a nice dinner?

The first that springs to my mind is Getto, I highly recommend that one. Actually, you’ll find interesting spots anywhere in the Warmoesstraat (Gay Village). You’ll find tons of restaurants with fair prices for snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner all over the city Centre.

Best gay bar for a cheap beer?

One of the best known and certainly crowded is Dirty Dicks. It also offers special beer prices on Thursdays. 

Best gay bar for a refreshing cocktail?

The Eagle Amsterdam has different unique mixed drinks every month, it’s worth trying it out! One of my favorites is also Prik, it has weekly specials.

Which famous gay person is from your city?

Let’s see… I can actually name a few! Bearforce1, Louis Van Amstel, Paul De Leeuw, Andre Van Duin.

Ready to go dancing--what is the best gay dance club?

The Eagle Amsterdam! Really if you’re here for a few days or weeks you shouldn’t miss their parties. 

Where to start a gay tour in your home city?

Well, for a gay tour I’d say start on the Warmoesstraat, go everywhere in the city and then end up on the Warmoesstraat; That’s how gay-friendly Amsterdam is!

Best place to socialize with the local gay community?

On the Warmoesstraat, Reguliersdwarsstraat, de Amstel.

How gay-friendly is your home city?

Very friendly, Amsterdam has many cruise bars, gay leather shops, a thriving gay night-life and friendly gay guys. But really everyone in this city is welcoming and friendly. 

A gay place for brunch on weekends?

Same as before, I feel like recommending Getto, one of my favourite places! But then also don't forget to take a food tour in the gay area, Warmoesstraat. 

What is gay life like in Amsterdam? 

Amsterdam is a blast! Not only for gay people, actually. Culture, history, beautiful and peculiar architecture and this is topped by freedom and tolerance. Concerning specifically the gay-scene, there’s something for everybody’s tastes: many bars, clubs and events. The beers are cheap, and the guys are hot! The gay scene, as I said, is mainly situated on the Warmoesstraat. Also, Amsterdam hosts the biggest Pride Events of Europe.

What are your favourite gay venues in Amsterdam?
