There is something fantastic about being on top of the world. Few things are quite as thrilling as being surrounded by the sky, clouds mountains, waterfalls, and not being bound or constrained by anything. The freedom of floating miles above the natural wonders of the world. What could be more magnificent? Standing above it all, is not for the weak of heart. It takes bravery, a sense of adventure, a desire to experience the wonder of the world, and to scale the heights and survey nature's magnificence high above it all. This desire to make the impossible possible, has driven humans for centuries to accomplish death-defying tasks and feats of unspeakable innovation. Only us humans could make our dreams of standing above it all a reality.

Skywalks, fantastical feats of human engineering, have brought to life some of the most beautiful human dreams. All over the world, these glass bottom platforms place our feet thousands of feet above the ground. 1 - Los Angeles - Skyspace

Located in the U.S. Bank Tower, skyspace is California's tallest open-air observation deck. 1,000 feet above Los Angles, Skyspace offers 360-degree views of the city. In addition to the open-air deck, Skyspace boasts the Skyslide, an outdoor glass slide that connects the 70th and 69th floors of the tower. 

 

2 - Chicago - The Ledge @ Tower’s Tilt

Chicago's Willis Tower is the second tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. The 108-story skyscraper is home to the Skydeck as well as a spectacle simply known as 'The Ledge.' The deck is open 365 says a year, and its glass balcony ledge extends four feet outward, 1,353 feet above the city. 

 

3 - Shanghai - Shanghai World Financial Center

China is known for many fantastic spectacles including the Brave Men’s Bridge in Shiniuzai National Park, the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai, and the Yuntaishan Scenic Park in Henan Province. However, one of its spectacles stands out high above the rest, literally. Located in the busy city of Shanghai, the Shanghai World Financial Center is the 8th tallest building in the world and the fourth tallest structure in Mainland China. The building is also home to an observation deck that offers views 1,555 ft in the air. 

 

4 - Toronto - CN Tower

One of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, CN Tower is home to the EdgeWalk. The hands-free ledge walk circles the top of the tower's 116th floor, 1168 feet above the ground.

A marvel of modern architecture, the Tokyo Sky Tree Tembo Deck rises 350 meters above the ground and gives visitors a 360-deegree view of the Tokyo skyline. Another exciting feature, the tower's Galleria transports visitors to the highest floor through a glass tube. 

 

6 - Canadian Rockies - Glacier Skywalk

Visitors walk 918 feet above waterfalls, wildlife, mountains, and forests along the glass walkway located within the Canada's Columbia Icefield.

 

7 - Mont Blanc - Step Into The Void

Within a glass room, visitors to Mont Blanc sky walk can experience the highest peaks in Western Europe in a unique way. Suspended on a glass bottom floor, 1000 meters above the ground, visitors to Aiguille du midi can get a great view of the Bossons Glacier from an unbeatable perspective. 

 

8 - Melbourne - The Edge at Eureka Skydeck 88

The Edge at Eureka Skydeck 88 is the world’s only moving glass structure, and it is a wonderful structure at that. The Edge is a glass bottom cube that extends from the Eureka Tower’s 88th floor. Once on The Edge, you will be suspended almost 300 meters above Melbourne's sprawling metropolis.

 

9 - London - Tower Bridge
